ABSTRACT
The article discusses benchmarking for businesses. A majority of financial planners participate benchmarking studies, according to a survey by the Financial Planning Association. Benchmarks are especially important for businesses in the United States because they allow companies to analyze their revenue and profits to see how their business compares to others. Benchmarks also allow financial planners to help when deciding budgets, give them an idea of what the business' future looks like, and understand how business models compete.
