ABSTRACT
The article reports on the launch of a program called Give Me Five--Colors That Jive in public schools in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2006. According to Lisa Griffin, coordinator of child nutrition for Tulsa Public Schools, she created the program to call attention to the importance of fruits and vegetables to good health and to make it fun for students to learn. She noted that since the launch of the program, fruit and vegetable consumption in elementary schools has risen by 20 percent.
