ABSTRACT
The article discusses the definition of a legacy system and how it is modernized in current technology by transforming the legacy application into graphical user interface(GUI) applications with the use of SOA. SOA separates the programs that interact with the user from the programs that are mainly related with the business systems, as agreed by International Business Machines (IBM) and Microsoft to preserve the value of these legacy systems. It also discusses the two major components of SOA model.
