Flex and Flash Still Drive Richest Web Experience

The article discusses the Flex/Flash platform in web design. Flex SDK is a development kit for building rich applications based on Flash. Macromedia, who released Flex in 2004, was acquired by Adobe in 2005. Adobe's Flash has been popular for adding animation on Web pages. However, due to the limited language and development environment of Flash, the addition of Flex can generate Flash bytecode that can form the basis for rich Internet applications. Flash has evolved from a primarily animation and multimedia-oriented platform to one that is used to deliver highly interactive experiences initially promised by Java applets.
