ABSTRACT
The article reports on the plan of Eni Spa to build a bio-diesel plant in Livorno, Italy, using the technology developed by an Italian group. The plant will be using the Ecofining oil technology which will process 6,500 barrels/day of vegetable oils to diesel and supply to European refineries with high-cetane diesel fuel. In addition, the company will be the first plant to use the technology with the use of catalytic hydroprocessing to convert vegetable oils to diesel.
