ABSTRACT
The article features the success of Cognis Corp. with its business operations in Germany. Cognis, which was already owned by private equity groups Permira and GS Capital Partners, has a portfolio built on natural ingredients. The company has processed more than 40% of the substances which are based on renewable raw materials. Cognis, which has 8,000 employees worldwide, has also a thriving business in functional products for industry and a small but growing health and nutrition business.
