ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the issue regarding the importance of the incorporation of fiber optics into the communication systems in the U.S. Some cable industry representatives said that fiber optic cabling is certainly a key element in the communication system. However, other representatives believe that bringing fiber optics to the premises (FTTP) is critical in providing any services and applications needed in the future.
