ABSTRACT
The article presents various steps in the reparation of a microphone. The author replaced the carbon resistors of an AKG C 24 mic with low-noise, metalfilm types to minimize the variables. Another step compressed the shields slowly by bending the cable and poking until an exposed layer and loop are created. The wires are then separated and prepared for soldering. Screwing the end cap of clamshell or metal housing secures the original cable.
