ABSTRACT
The article summarizes the proposed Statement on Standards for Accounting and Review Services (SSARS) issued by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) in December 2006, which pertains to the elimination of certain references on auditing standards and incorporation of guidance into statements on standards for accounting and review services. The statement would amend accounting and review standards including those dealing with financial statements and successor accountants.
