The article reports that the First United Church of Christ in Winston-Salem, North Carolina led by its choir director Wayne Linville raised money to sponsor three puppies. Wayne and his wife, Becky, both knew that they wanted to train one of the puppies. Young golden retriever Beacon is a guide dog in training at the church. According to Wayne, Beacon will soon move on to help a visually impaired person.
