ABSTRACT
This article reports on the plan of food processing firm Archer Daniels Midland Co. to promote the benefits of soybean and corn products. The company is forming alliances with food makers to mark products containing NutriSoy soy protein with a logo, not unlike the familiar NutraSweet swirl once commonly found on soda cans. The company also is preparing to test some of its own consumer products in 2000. The plans include advertising designed to educate consumers on the benefits of soy proteins. The NutriSoy label will cover several categories, including soy protein isolates, soy protein concentrates and textured vegetable proteins.
