This article focuses on the statement issued by PMI ProSports Marketing that Vince Carter of the Toronto Raptors no longer endorses Puma products in 1999. Puma North America reportedly did not make good on its promise to introduce a new shoe line for Carter. Puma does have a Vince Carter shoe currently on the market, the Cell VI, and said it will release another, the Vinsanity, before the All-Star game in 2000. A Puma spokeswoman also said the company did not make a specific advertising agreement with Carter for his shoe line. In a statement, Puma said it is expecting that Carter will honor his ten-year agreement which began in 1998.
