ABSTRACT
The article reports on the questions raised regarding the introduction of a bill to hike taxes on so-called carried interest by U.S. Representative Sandy Levin. The bill will be used widely in the private equity industry to compensate investment managers. Representative Eric Cantor believes that the measure taken by Levin is nothing but an attempt to put a target on the back of an industry simply because they have been successful.
