This research is meant to assess the use of two different kinds of mechanics to attain the torque of the upper anterior section in patients who require it. When an orthodontic treatment is planned according to the patient's diagnose and clinical assessment, extractions and the use a retraction mechanics for space closure are necessary, which may later leave the incisors retroclined, mostly due to a badly applied retraction mechanics and class II division 2 patients also need torque in the anterior section. The above is to make sure that the outcomes of the treatment are stable, aesthetically acceptable, and occlusally functional. Two torque mechanics were used: "T" TMA reverse curve archwire with loops and stainless temper steel torque spurs. The incisors positioning effects of both mechanics were clinical and cephalometrically assessed. Fourteen patients were chosen for this study, six male and eight female, 50% out of the total used stainless tempered steel torque spurs and the other 50% used reverse curve archwire. Out of the 100% of the patients, 35.5% belong to dolichofacial biotype, 43% to mesofacial and 21.5 % to brachyfacial. After having used the torque mechanics, it was observed that the torque spurs performed much faster than the reverse curve arch, it took about three months to achieve the desired results and about 5 months with the reverse curve arch. Clinic and cephalometric changes were attained with all patients, although not all of them achieved statistic significance. Upper incisor inclination with relation to a Ba-Na, lip protrusion and facial axies were the values which had the statistic significance. Both the use of stainless temper steel torque spurs and the use of reverse curve archwire can give similar results concerning the positioning of the incisors since all patients achieved modification in it, placing them in accordance with facial biotype and parallel to the facial axis of the patient like it is recommended by some authors.
