ABSTRACT
The article reports that Aleris International Inc. in Beachwood, Ohio has announced revenues of more than $1 million and a net loss of $53.1 million for the first quarter of 2007. It is noted that the revenue boost is driven by its acquisition of Corus Group PLC on August 2006. In addition, Steven J. Demetriou, chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of Aleris, asserts that the company has experienced very strong results in Europe, while the North American economy has slowed in early 2007.
