ABSTRACT
The article reports on the plan of Mittal Steel USA Inc. to reopen its idled plate mill in Gary, Indiana. The company states that the reestablishment of the facility aims to respond to the growth in demand for plate products. The facility, which will start operating on September 2007, utilizes a hydraulic gauge control which allows to produce higher volumes of plate products.
