ABSTRACT
The article provides an overview of the energy efficiency regulations for the property industry that were introduced in Great Britain. It details the key features of the European Union (EU) Energy Performance in Buildings Directive 2002. The energy performance certificates (EPCs) impose targets on gas and electricity suppliers for the installation of energy efficiency measures in homes. A consultation paper was released on establishing a voluntary code of best practice for carbon offsetting.
