ABSTRACT
The article focuses on various opinions of the automobile maker industry on the extinction of compact disc (CD) players by 2015. It was stated that the MyGIG navigation system from Chrysler Group was leading the charge away from the conventional audio system layout. Mike Antrim of Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America mentioned that people still preferred to watch movies in the back of the car using a CD-sized disk. It was noted that 85.6% of recordings still are purchased on full-length CD.
