ABSTRACT
The article discusses the author's experience of arable farming in Fife, Scotland. They had planned to miss T0 fungicide on wheat, but yellow rust on Robigus required the application of Opus. They have enjoyed a good relationship with the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) for five years, working on small areas of wild bird mixtures linked with non-intensive cereals, set-aside and late grazed grass. He criticized the flaws of the Rural Stewardship Scheme as compared to RSPB.
