This article explains that Stephen Roach, chief economist in the U.S. of Morgan Stanley, will be taking up duties as chairman of Morgan Stanley in Asia. It discusses the career of Roach as Morgan Stanley's chief economist in the U.S. in predicting the performance and direction of the U.S. economy. It anticipates that Roach will face a challenge in determining the direction of China's economy. Roach has not been very accurate in his economic forecasts for the U.S.
