ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decision of Akzo Nobel to invest €50 million for its Eka Chemicals pulp and paper chemicals business. Such move is aimed at building a chlorine dioxide plant at Tres Lagoas, Brazil and expanding its sodium chlorate plant at São Paulo to 30,000 tons per year. The capacity will be used to supply a greenfield pulp mill to be built at Tres Lagoas by paper maker Votorantium Celulose e Papel.
