ABSTRACT
This article describes how the Aberdeen Test Center at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland conducts tests of several military weapon systems and protective equipment. Since 2005, the center has tested about 30 Rapid Fielding Initiative items a week, with more than 1,400 tests conducted in 2006. According to the center commander, Colonel John Rooney, the center is focusing on identifying the best technology available, getting that capability to the warfighter, and then improving on it.
