ABSTRACT
The article reports that Cardinal Health Inc. has planned to purchase Viasys Healthcare Inc. for about $1.54 billion. Under an agreement reached recently by the two firms, Cardinal Health will acquire the outstanding stock of Viasys for $42.75 per share. Viasys also has a foothold in the diagnostic end of the medical goods industry and is a leader in the production of neurological, audio and vascular diagnostic products.
