ABSTRACT
The article reports on the Asian Film Academy's selection of Iranian director Mohsen Makhmalbaf to serve as its third principal. Makhmalbaf will be joined in South Korea by Thai director Pen-ek Ratanaruang and Japanese director Kurita Toyomichi. Ratanaruang's "Ploy" screened in the Director's Fortnight section at Cannes.
