ABSTRACT
The article deals with the impact of Reach, the European Union legislation covering registration, evaluation and authorisation of chemicals and the rising production cost, on the European paints industry. Terry Knowles of IRL says companies need advanced warning if a product will no longer be available if it is found to be non-compliant. The European paints industry is caning for more support from raw material suppliers in the run-up to Reach.
