ABSTRACT
The article reports the financial performance of petrochemical producers in Brazil for first quarter of fiscal 2007. Braskem reported a 36% year-on-year rise in first quarter earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) to reais (R) 432 million. UNIPAR's net income totaled R41.2 million on sales of R642.8 million. Suzano Petroquimica recorded EBITDA of R68.5 million and revenues of R441.4 million.
