ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the Plant Audit Program of Terex Roadbuilding , a Oklahoma City based company. It is a first-of-its-kind program that focuses on optimizing plant efficiency and maximizing uptime. This program was started by the manufacturers of Terex drum mix plants in February of 2005. Till date over 30 plant inspections have been completed. According to Burl Wilkins, plant audit specialist for Terex Roadbuilding, while auditing it has been found that producers are spending much more than they need to on fuel. During the program, recommendations such as adjustments to burners and improvements to airflow at the baghouse are made to companies so that they can save a significant amount of money.
