ABSTRACT
The article reports on the impending power outages in China's Southern Guangdong province in 2007 caused by lack of generators, water and gas, according to a government official. The outages have deterred foreign companies from investing in the province, which is one of Chinas key manufacturing hubs for anything from textiles to toys, according to a report by state media agency Xinhua.
