ABSTRACT
The article focuses on a study by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California that examined how effective new trees are in offsetting the carbon footprint. The study suggests that the location of the new growth is an important factor when considering such carbon offset projects. The research also concludes that planting new trees in certain parts of the planet actually may warm the Earth. It also discusses how forests affect climate.
