In this article the author examines the wide variety of athletic shoe insoles available to consumers and discusses how to identify what specific type of insole a customer may need. The author mentions that many athletic shoe manufacturers now produce shoes with easily removable footbeds, so consumers can correctly match the shoe with the most comfortable insole. Some of the types of insoles that are discussed are cushioned, firm, arch supporting, sport-specific and all-purpose insoles.
