ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decline in the absence rates in the Westminster City Council of England. Absence rates have dropped by 2.5 days per employee per year, mainly due to a policy that reduces sick leave period. The policy is based on careful monitoring of sickness absence combined with early intervention.
