ABSTRACT
The article reports on the financial performance of home retail store Sears Holdings in the U.S. during the first quarter of 2007. The comparable-store sales dropped 3.9 percent, with Sears stores off 3.4 percent and Kmart doors fell 4.4 percent in the quarter. The store's operating profit increased to $393 million from $331 million in 2006. Its net income rose 20 percent to $216 million from $180 million in 2006.
