ABSTRACT
The article reports on the increase of detection rates of tuberculosis (TB) as a result of a nurse-led screening program in Hackney, England. The screening involved eliciting information about Bacille Calmette-Guerin (BCG), a vaccine against TB, status, possible symptoms, migration history and contact with other people with TB. The nurses also conducted skin testing, chest radiography and referral if necessary.
