ABSTRACT
The article reports on a merger agreement signed by Motorola Inc. with privately held video systems company Modulus Video Inc. Modulus Video makes Motion Picture Experts Group-4 (MPEG-4) advanced video coding (AVC) compression systems designed for delivery of video content in the Internet protocol television (IPTV), cable, broadcast and satellite marketplace. Motorola's Modulus buy is just the latest in a string of deals the company has made in the video services space.
