ABSTRACT
The article focuses on staying ahead of computer hardware needs in health care. Hospital information systems are changing as clinicians require more access to patient data, which means that chief information officers (CIO) need to understand that computer hardware is more about systems management than traditional asset management. CIO users and software vendors should study system capacity demands as new clinical information-driven systems hit the marketplace.
