ABSTRACT
The article reports on the collaboration between the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) and Merck/Schering-Plough Pharmaceuticals in developing a medical program entitled "Sounding the Alarm for High Cholesterol," in the U.S. The program serves as a warning signal among firefighters to the cholesterol high risks and its role in heart disease. The program is the extension of the Hear-Healthy Firefighter Program which aims to prevent heart attack among firefighters and emergency personnel.
