ABSTRACT
The article reports developments on the business performance of Steel Technologies Inc. in the U.S. The company plans to merge with Mitsui and Co. Ltd., thus, offering new and attractive opportunities for their customers, suppliers and employees. For the second quarter of 2007, Steel Technologies reported income of $2.9 million, depicting a 27 percent increase from the same period in 2006. Company officials cited average higher selling prices and increased volumes for the increased sales.
