ABSTRACT
The article reports developments of the Institute of Biology (IOB) in Great Britain. IOB has played an important role in supporting the development of the Biosciences Federation and through its work on behalf of the Affliated Societies. The organization ensures to collaborate with colleagues in Physics and Chemistry not only on the Science Council but also on personal level. Biology suffers from being under funded and have been at the forefront in attempting to ameliorate the situation.
