ABSTRACT
The article reports on the acquisition of controlling interest in Berkline/BenchCraft by an affiliate of private investment firm Sun Capital Partners. The move will give the upholstery new financing. The deal is part of a recapitalization that also will swap about $40 million of outstanding debt for new equity securities. Sun Capital's furniture holdings include Lexington Home Brands, Rowe Furniture, and Powell Co.
