ABSTRACT
The article discusses a legislative bill in the U.S. House of Representatives that focuses on reforming the regulation of government-sponsored enterprises. The bill was amended by Representatives Melissa Bean and Randy Neugebauer has less of a chance to be supported by President George W. Bush's administration, according to the author. The change ensures that proposed regulator can only require the company to reduce its portfolio if it poses a risk to the GSE's themselves.
