The article announces the decision of the European Commission's Scientific Committee on Consumer Products (SCCP) to extend an assessment of hair dyes to gain a better understanding of their sensitizing properties. Commissioner for health Markos Kyprianou said an in-depth assessment of the prevalence of hair dye allergies in the population was critical in view of their widespread use.
