ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decision of Cadence to buy a large part of the plastics business of Collins & Aikman for an undisclosed sum. According to Cadence, the acquisition included nine of Collins' plastics plants in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Collins is reorganizing under the U.S. bankruptcy code. A spokesman for Collins explained that the company would close plastics plants in various cities in July 2007.
