ABSTRACT
The article recalls the launch of a mutual fund by JM Group for the Indian petrochemical industry in 1997. It is said to be the first mutual fund to invest exclusively in the equity shares of petrochemical companies. JM Group has proposed that the fund be sized at a modest 500 million rupees. The company announced it will declare the net asset value of its units on all working days.
