ABSTRACT
The article reports that a heavy turnaround schedule, or a scheduled large-scale maintenance activity, means Asia's oxo-alcohols, or feedstock, market faces extremely tight supply. Prices, however, have failed to rise because of weak demand from downstream sectors including dioctyl phthalate and butyl acetate. Oxo-alcohols such as n-butanol and 2-ethylhexanol expected to rise in May 2007 because of reduced spot availability during a series of maintenance turnarounds in northeast Asia.
