ABSTRACT
The article reports that Germany's large plant contractors won projects worth €26.3 billion, including €2.4 billion in orders for new chemical plants. Although Middle Eastern petrochemical producers, led by Saudi Arabia and Iran, awarded the largest share of new contracts, the German industry association was pleased with the 14 percent rise in orders for chemical plants in Germany. Most of the projects involved modernisation and capacity expansion rather than greenfield investment.
