ABSTRACT
The article reports that speakers at a panel of state and local regulators in Las Vegas, Nevada have stated that public/private partnerships are the key to drive broadband to the most rural users. Speakers also denounced local bills that fail to mandate that new carriers extend new technology to unserved areas. Collen Landkamer, president of the National Association of Counties, shared the tale of a rural elevator company based near her hometown in Mankato, Minnesota.
