ABSTRACT
Choosing outside counsel to assist with legal matters is an important decision for risk managers. Good rapport with the lawyer can be as important as good credentials. • Focus on individual attorneys, not the credentials of the law firm. • Provide enough business to the lawyers to keep them interested. • Look for attorneys who can be legal resources for a broad range of issues.
