ABSTRACT
The article cites a research study conducted to determine the efficacy of the use of fluoxetine for the treatment of depersonalization disorder. A total of 54 patients were selected for this study and they were adults aged between 18-65 years. By semi-structured clinical interview, these patients met DSM-IV diagnostic criteria for current depersonalization disorder. They were randomized to accept fluoxetine or placebo. During the entire duration of the trial, no accompanying medication was allowed.
