The article offers information on the on-device portal (ODP). According to Matt Lewis of research firm ARCchart, ODP refers to applications that run on the handset, with the underlying mission being to make content easier to discover and use. The efforts of companies such as Handmark, Action Engine and Alltel, to develop ways to make content easier to discover and use on the handset are discussed.
