The article reports on the public participation in planning for the improvement of rail transit systems by several transportation agencies in the U.S. The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority conducts meetings and surveys to make community decisions in an effort to reduce distrust to let the project move forward in Georgia. The Transit Alliance in Denver, Colorado and the public propose to build a 119 miles bus transit and an expanded bus service. Also, the Citizens for Modern Transit in Saint Louis, Missouri advocates for expanded service and hosts luncheons to promote new ridership.
